Defining Vision Statement
Hi there,
Let’s talk today about one of the most exciting tools that you can have in your business.
And that is your Vision Statement.
Think of it as your business’s dream for the future.
Not to be mixed up with its Mission Statement, which is more about your “now”.
Your Vision Statement is your crystal ball glimpse into where you want to be in, let’s say, three to five years.
Imagine it’s March 6, 2024—your Vision is for March 6, 2027, or even 2030. The trick is picking a future date that’s not too far off, because let’s face it, things change, and you’ll likely update this vision every year or so.
Picture your Vision Statement as a snapshot of a future day, written like it’s happening right now.
Keep in mind that It’s all about the details: how much revenue you’re making, what are your profit margins, how many clients do you service, the vibe of your service, the cool team members you’re working with, what your company looks like from the inside out, and so on.
Even think about what your clients are saying about you, or if you’re making a difference with any charity work.
This Vision is your narrative of what’s to come.
But here’s the kicker: Skip the “how” part!
Don’t get bogged down in the journey or the steps to get there—focus on the destination.
This Vision, just 1 page long, should make you and everyone on your team say, “Wow, can’t wait to make this real!”
It’s about painting a picture so vivid and specific that everyone on your team gets pumped about making it a reality.
It’s not just about the profits but about creating a future that excites and inspires you and your team every day.
Your Mission tells you why you’re here and what you do daily.
Your Vision?
That’s your North Star, guiding you to what you aim to become: the level of success, the kind of team you want to build, and the impact you want to have.
